CFTool is a curve-fitting application written in Python® using the PySide6® API. It fits weighted 2D data with either built-in or custom mathematical functions, through a simple, intuitive interface that anyone familiar with data fitting will pick up quickly.
CFTool is available for Windows, macOS and Linux, and needs no separate Python installation — everything it requires is bundled in. On Windows and macOS it installs like any other desktop application; on Linux it ships as a self-contained AppImage that runs directly and can add itself to your applications menu.
What you can do with CFTool
- Fit built-in functions or your own custom expressions, with full control of coefficients and bounds.
- Choose the fitting algorithm and apply weighting in X and Y.
- Fit peaks (Gaussian, Lorentzian, Voigt, resonance), splines, and plot integrals or derivatives of a fit.
- Correct a sloping background with baseline subtraction.
- Read off confidence intervals and fit-quality statistics.
- Format the graph and export or print publication-ready figures.
